Work Ready Oklahoma

While I worked at Public Strategies, as a UI/UX designer, I also assisted with graphic design work as needed. One of the graphic design jobs assigned to me was for Work Ready Oklahoma. I worked on social media graphics regularly and also a window wrap project. Work Ready Oklahoma has a strong identity - black and white photography and a limited , but expressive, color palette of orange and steely blue.

Window Wrap

The biggest challenge on this project was a rule from the building owner. The building was in a part of the city that was undergoing new development so the owner wanted the building to be as open as possible. Because of that, the wrap could obscure no more than 30% of the window. This caused some challenges but was a welcome challenge in that it forced me to think about the brand in a more minimal way.

Social Media

Our approach to social media was to create a 1200px x 1200px square for use on all outlets. I had some push back on the "Interviews can be Frightful" piece due to the angling of the wording in the shadow. The account manager did not understand that the text was intended to feel disorienting. I was able to convince her and keep the concept unchanged. The other piece really impressed the entire team through its simplicity and influenced the brand moving forward.
